Quick Takes Update

Well, it's finally here! Quick Takes: Home for the Holidays is officially underway. We are busier than Santa's elves today and have another full day tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped us raise $650 for Williamsburg Area Meals on Wheels. That provides over 125 meals for local folks in need!!!

I thought I would go ahead and share this image that we captured this morning. Some of you may recognize Miss Logan Cline...is she gorgeous or what?! We have been so blessed to be able to capture images of Logan from the very beginning. It's hard to believe she is 4-and-a-half already! Here's one of my favorites from a couple years ago. Oh yeah, that's her mom and dad with her, Heather and Keith!

We sure are thankful we get to document such wonderful memories. We never ever take it for granted and appreciate each and everyone of you who walks through our door.

Lucy and Her New Boyfriend, Luke

Okay...Everybody now: "Aaaaaaaaaah!"

I was going through some of my personal files this afternoon and came across this image of Lucy at one of the workshops we taught recently in North Carolina. Michael and I went down to a friends' studio outside of Charlotte in August and taught a day-long seminar to 20 professional photographers from the area. We had a blast and our Lucy fell in L-O-V-E with their resident guard-dog, Luke. While we were getting ready for a shoot, Luke jumped on his favorite red chair and wherever Luke went, of course Lucy insisted on following.

Hmmmmmmm....I wonder if this would qualify as an engagement portrait...

Here Comes the Rain Again

Okay...I really did have every intention of writing more often...looks like it's been a week since I last wrote. So what's been going on?

Well things have been pretty busy around here. On the 25th we photographed the VERY cool wedding of Elizabeth Ellis and Ben Johnson. The weather was pretty wild...threatening to rain all day but plenty warm. The cloudy skies are actually a photographer's dream...nice soft lighting for all of our subjects. We had a huge wedding party and a very limited amount of time for photographs. Bruton Parish, here in Williamsburg, had another wedding right after ours.  The bride took our advice and opted to do her portraits outside.  The trees were beautiful and really provided a beautiful backdrop.  The weather was holding out so we herded the 32 (!!) members of the Wedding Party to the side yard and got everyone posed.  As soon as we did it started raining!  They were such great sports...they grabbed the umbrellas that had been ordered once it was clear the weather was going to be iffy and we were able to get this shot. Almost immediately, the rain stopped again and we caught this:

Thanks to everyone for being so fun to work with! We had a great time!
